Overview

The NIH- funded Biomedical Technology Resources, including the Biomedical Technology Research Resources (BTRR) at NIGMS and the Biomedical Technology Resource Centers (BTRC) at NIBIB, create critical, often unique technology and methods at the forefront of their respective fields, and apply them to a broad range of basic, translational, and clinical research. This is accomplished through a synergistic interaction of technical and biomedical expertise, both within the resources and through intensive collaborations with other leading laboratories.

These Biomedical Technology Resources (BTR) serve a unique purpose in the broad context of NIH-funded research. They represent a critical mass of technological and intellectual resources with a strong focus on service and training for outside investigators, as well as dissemination of technologies, methods, and software. Their goal is to promote the widespread and routine application of the cutting-edge technologies they develop across the full spectrum from bench to bedside.

The mission of the BTR Software and Data Portal is to:
  • Provide a one stop shop for all innovative technology resources supported by the NIGMS and NIBIB, categorized, updated, and maintained by participating centers.
  • Provide convenient search capabilities for software, datasets, instrumentation that enable and transform NIH funded research projects
  • Provide a forum for discussion, support, training and information sharing with NIH user communities
  • Promote synergistic interactions and scientific collaboration between the BTRRs and the NIH user communities.
